Smt Mukta Hegde, a disciple of Internationally renowned Bharatanatyam dancer Guru Dr. Rajeswari Sainath and Late Sri D.D. Naik started learning dance from the age of 6. She has given many performances in Hyderabad and also has participated in several dance ballets organised under her Guru’s dance academy Sruthilaya Kendra Natarajalaya in Chennai and Hyderabad. She is trained in Pandanallur bani of Bharatanatyam. . In her pursuit to learn more about laya in dance she is trained in Nattuvangam by Late Mridangam Vidwan Shri Karra Srinivasa Rao.

Smt. Mukta Hegde started her dance academy ‘Mukta Natya Centre’ at Hyderabad in 2014. She is a passionate, patient and strict teacher who belives that learning classical dance enables holistic development of an individual. She believes that the success of an artiste and the dance centre lies in sowing the seed of learning classical dance in the students and be a torch bearer for the next generation. Her students have performed in many cultural programmes in Hyderabad. Few of her students have completed Arangetram.

Smt. Mukta Hegde recently moved to Toronto, Canada and is currently residing in Markham. She will be starting dance classes initially on online platform followed by in-person classes at the Markham centre. She has been training her Hyderabad centre students through online classes for a year now.

Smt. Mukta Hegde has completed basic level of learning in Kalaripayattu (Indian Martial Arts) and is an avid yoga practitioner.
