Smt Mukta Hegde, a disciple of Internationally renowned Bharatanatyam dancer Kalaimamani Guru Dr. Rajeswari Sainath and (Late) Sri D.D. Naik started learning dance from the age of 6. She has given many performances in Hyderabad and has participated in several dance ballets organised under her Guru’s dance academy Sruthilaya Kendra Natarajalaya in Chennai and Hyderabad. She is trained in Pandanallur bani of Bharatanatyam. In her pursuit to learn more about laya in dance she is trained in Nattuvangam from renowned artist and teacher Kalaimamani Guru Madurai R. Muralidharan and Vidwan (Late) Shri Karra Srinivasa Rao

Smt. Mukta Hegde founded Mukta Natya Centre in Hyderabad in 2014. After relocating to Toronto, Canada in 2020, she established her dance academy in the GTA area of Toronto, specifically in Aurora, ON. Under her guidance, students have delivered impressive performances across Toronto. Mukta Natya Centre prepares students for Grade Level exams, and many have successfully completed these exams. Few of her students have completed Arangetram. Mukta Natya Centre offers flexible dance classes, conveniently available both online and in-person. She received the title “Sabhaa Ranjakam” from the Vrishanka Fine Arts Association, Hyderabad, in 2019.
After ten years as an IT professional, she transitioned to her calling in the fine arts, focusing on talent and sharing the traditional heritage by teaching and mentoring the next generation of artists. She is a passionate, patient and strict teacher who believes that learning classical dance enables holistic development of an individual. She believes that the success of an artiste and the dance centre lie in sowing the seed of learning classical dance in the students and be a torch bearer for the next generation.
Smt. Mukta Hegde is Certified Yoga Teacher. She holds RYT – 200 hrs and is a part of Yoga Alliance. She has completed basic level of learning in Indian Martial Arts Kalaripayattu from Guru Smt. Anupa Shekhar.
